Building the Wind Generator

On the weekend I built the wind generator.

To build it, Ihad to to wrap 6 layers of copper wire onto an iron core. About 250 winds are required on each layer, each layer took about 10 minutes to wrap so the wrapping alone took about an hour to do.

I mounted the core onto the wooden base.

The magnets were put in place on the axel.

I hammered nails into the wood to support the LED bulb and Iconnected the two ends of the copper wire to the bulb.

After I built it, we tested it but it did not work yet.

I will have to make a few changes and some more testing. Fingers crossed, it will be working soon.
