It is the night before the science fair and I am geting exicited.
I am really looking forward to it!!!!!!!

Creating the Display
We had to spend the whole night puting together trifold.
It involved printing off all the pictures, printing off all the write-up, mounting the write-up, pictures and lables, making and mounting the title and finaly assembling the trifold.
Colour was added with the finishing touches.

More Testing for Wind Generator
Today I carried out more tests.
First I tested the LED light with a battery to make sure it worked, it worked fine.
Next I tested the first motor that I bought, it worked fine with the battery.
I'm still not sure why we cannot use this mini generator by spinning the axle with a drill to light up the LED light.
I also could still not get the generator that I made to light up the LED light when I spun the axle.
SUCCESS!
I replaced the LED light with the battery and to my surprise it was actually working backwards and it was making the axle rotate so at least I now know the set-up can work.
That was a small success and a small step in the right direction.

Building the Wind Generator
On the weekend I built the wind generator.
To build it, Ihad to to wrap 6 layers of copper wire onto an iron core. About 250 winds are required on each layer, each layer took about 10 minutes to wrap so the wrapping alone took about an hour to do.
I mounted the core onto the wooden base.
The magnets were put in place on the axel.
I hammered nails into the wood to support the LED bulb and Iconnected the two ends of the copper wire to the bulb.
After I built it, we tested it but it did not work yet.
I will have to make a few changes and some more testing. Fingers crossed, it will be working soon.

Alternative Wind Turbine
I have been looking at some alternative designs for my wind turbine.
I am considering a design similar to one I found Here.

I have been doing more work on the Coil Winder today. It is a tricky job so I must prepare well.
I needed masking tape which I now have so I'm almost ready to wind

Build the Coil Winder
Today, I am going to start assembling the Coil winder. This device will make the task of winding the copper wire onto the soft Iron Core much easier.
The coils are a very important part of the generator so they must be wound carefully in order to do a good job.
After this has been completed, I will start assembling the generator itself.
